The Malteserkirche in Vienna, Johannes the Baptist

It is the first time we see such a small church in a major European city. This is however not the only special thing about this church dedicated to Johannes the Baptist. The Malteser church is located in the Kärntner Straße, surrounded by shops, malls and close to the Vienna Casino on the same side of the street. The facade is so narrow that you have to pay attention to recognise the church. The altar is very beautiful, it was made by Johann Georg Schmidt. It is an eye catcher and master piece that attrackts your attention as soon as you enter.
